What is Medicare?

Medicare is a Federal program that offers Health Insurance to American citizens and other eligible individuals Age 65 or older, younger than 65 with a qualifying disability and any age with a diagnosis of end-stage renal disease or ALS.

When and How Can I Enroll?

Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) is 7 months long. It includes your 65th birthday month plus 3 months before and 3 months after. The easiest way to obtain your Medicare is to apply on line  or visit your local Social Security Office.

Original Medicare Parts A & B

Original Medicare Part A and Part B provide many Health Care Benefits;


Part A or Hospital Insurance

  • Inpatient Hospital Stays
  • Care in a skilled Nursing Facility
  • Hospice Care
  • Some Home Health Care 


Part B or Medical Insurance

  •  Doctors Visits
  •  Outpatient Care
  •  Medical Supplies
  • Preventive Services 

Medicare Advantage Part C

Medicare Advantage Plans also known as Part C is an “all in one” alternative to Original Medicare. These “bundled” plans include Part A and Part B


  • In addition, Medicare Advantage Plans or Part C, combine Part A and Part B coverage. They often include drug coverage and other benefits you don't get with Original Medicare.

Prescription Drug Plan Part D

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans or Part D help pay for medications and adds prescription drug coverage to;


  • Original Medicare
  • Some Medicare Cost Plans
  • Some Medicare Private-Fee-for-Service Plans
  • Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans
